About Janet MacPherson
I am a landscape architect based in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. I returned here in 2003, having spent 18 years living, working and studying in London.
I bring a broad range of experience and vision to all projects, large or small, having over 35 years of experience in the landscape gardening industry.
My lifetime passion for plants and landscape is my inspiration. I consider it a privilege to design and create spaces which enrich peoples’ lives, and benefit the environment.
My areas of special interest are trees, and historic landscapes and gardens. I am a trained arborist and have worked on the restoration of parks and gardens, including a year at Munstead Wood, Gertrude Jekylls home garden in Surrey, England.
I hold a BA in Landscape Architecture (Honours) from the University of Greenwich, London (2001), and was awarded the School of Architecture and Landscape award for outstanding performance in my third year of study. Previous to this I studied for Diploma in Horticulture at Massey University (NZ), and Certificate in Arboriculture (City and Guilds, London).
